Tallaght Fire Station is located on the Belgard Road. It was officially opened in April 1982. Station number 7, as it is known, provides fire-fighting services 24 hours a day, to an area that stretches from Leixlip over to Brittas and down to Tempelogue. Four watches; A, B, C & D, provide this non-stop service.
Each watch is made up of eight people; an officer, five on fire points and two for the ambulance. In the station there is one ambulance and one fire engine. In the event of a major emergency the station can call for support from other stations.
